MGAG Member Services
Gas Supply
The Gas Authority meets Members' full natural gas supply requirements and provides scheduling services to their citygate.
Capacity Management
The Gas Authority manages Members' capacity on a daily basis to maximize reliability and minimize cost.
Industrial Customer Assistance
The Gas Authority assists Members in industrial rates, contracts, and related services.
Regulatory Representation
The Gas Authority monitors and represents the membership's interest in both state and federal legislative issues.
Budget Assistance
The Gas Authority provides an annual budget forecast to help our Members budget for natural gas purchases and revenues.
Supply & Capacity Planning
The Gas Authority performs studies of each Member to determine supply and capacity needs for the future.
Rate Design Assistance
The Gas Authority assists Members in system rate design.
Market Development
The Gas Authority assists Members in promoting their gas systems, including the administration of the Subscribed Sales Force Program.
Project Financing
The Gas Authority assists Members in financing special capital expansion projects for their gas systems.
Training & Information
The Gas Authority provides group meetings, the Annual Membership Meeting, the Market Development Conference, the "CityGate News" monthly newsletter, and co-sponsored technical training.
Risk Management Assistance
The Gas Authority offers full, winter-month hedging programs as well as individual programs to stabilize fluctuating supply prices.

  • Complete administration of OQ based on GMA Gas Section program
  • Facilitation of training, testing, and program updating
Report Preparation
  • Preparation of annual Office of Pipeline Safety and Energy Information Administration reports
  • Preparation of incident reports, if necessary
Regulatory Representation
  • Monitoring regulatory changes and intervention, when necessary
  • Coordination with American Public Gas Association and Southern Gas Association
  • Inspection assistance and representation before Georgia Public Service Commission Office of Pipeline Safety
  • Development and maintenance of effective working relationship with PSC OPS
  • Organization and facilitation of regional roundtables
System Manual Maintenance
  • Assistance in integration of new code requirements into Operations & Maintenance and other manuals
